This message is very misleading. I have given information at Pablo Casals and I have explained that general usage prefers Pablo, whilst usage in direct relation to Catalonia is mixed. I ask editors to take special note of the link given above: it is for a search of the song alongside the term "pau casals". It is obvious that such a search will provide books that use Pau. Out of interest, if one changes Pau to Pablo, more than twice the number of hits are received:
Yes but these aren't sources dealing in context with Catalan culture. The situation remains that if you want to have a blanket ban on all use of the Catalan name in en.wp you'll need to start an RfC to impose such a ban. In the meantime it seems best to continue to use both names on en.wp selectively according to the context of the articles, as recent books do. I did a specific search for Casals and Catalan culture as mentioned on Pablo Casals: two gave Pablo and two gave Pau. You cannot include Pau as a search term and then claim that Pau is the one more commonly used because it comes up most. I do not want a blanket ban on the name. When I recognized there was opposition to the removal of Pau, I changed my edits and included both names, yet you asserted that I should not do this. I thought it would have been preferable for both of us. I am confused why you are now suggesting here that both names should be used on Wikipedia because of your complaints about my attempted compromise. 131.111.185.66 (talk) 00:32, 24 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I do understand discussion. Discussion is not asserting that I should not do something without any kind of proper explanation or justification until much later, as you have done. I assumed that my compromise was consensus: Pau was being used as you asked for it to be, whilst Pablo was being included afterwards for clarification, as I recommended. I was very surprised that you still did not think this was appropriate. 131.111.185.66 (talk) 01:07, 24 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
