Biased
[edit]The current article was very biased. written by a member of El Shaddai. the criticisms against Bro Mike Velarde has been taken out and modified to give a positive look on this controversial organization. can the moderator of this page please review the history and compare which version is more neutral. -TO TELL YOU PLEASE CHECK THE PRESENT SITUATION OF THE COMMUNITY, THAT ISSUE HAS ENDED ALREADY! THEY ARE NOT HERETICS!
Rewrite
[edit]Definitely has to be rewritten using a NPOV. The explanation of the name could be shortened and instead point to the Names of God article. The FAQ section is also not appropriate in terms of format and content. --Radbasa 05:35, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
POV Check
[edit]I rewrote the intro somewhat, but a large portion of the article seems extremely POV-heavy and I'm not sure it's salvageable. I didn't want to go deleting swaths of text without a second opinion, though. -Big Smooth 22:50, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
Soft Rewrite Attempt
[edit]I made a fairly significant attempt to temper most of the article to show the number of assertions and unsubstantiated facts in the article, although we're far from getting anyway with making this even close to factual. There are entire sections that need sources to be cited and I don't even know where to begin. I'm not even religious and don't really feel inspired to start googling for information for a group I don't think has done much to document their history or numbers thus far. --rOckY 01:26, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Deleted to Bias
[edit]This article has a too much of a bias opnion and focuses to much on an opnion rater than a staement. Just because of these scandals among Protestant Tele Evangelists does not mean to put a suspsion on this group to. This article needs to be expanded and needs to get more information and more cretible information.
This needs a complete, NPOV, referenced rewrite.

Needs a rewrite. It's more about Mike Velarde than El Shaddai
[edit]This article barely discusses El Shaddai and is mostly about Mike Velarde. This should be fixed. How many members? How active worldwide? How often do members meet and what do they do? The criticism section needs also to be improved and I agree that there needs to be far more references. I think that the POV is OK though bits can be made more neutral, which I think will come when the article is rewritten to be more about El Shaddai and not Mike Velarde. Also please remember to affix your signature to your comments on this Talk page by clicking on the signature button above this edit frame. It's to the right of the W with a "no" sign through it and to the left of the "-". --Bruce Hall (talk) 05:23, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Religious Resurgence in Contemporary Asia
[edit]There is definitely more to this than Mike Velarde. Buddhist, Catholic and Muslim adherents are being attracted to the preaching of a path to material wealth, observes Robert W. Hefner, director of the Institute on Culture, Religion, and World Affairs at Boston University. “Religious Resurgence in Contemporary Asia: Southeast Asian Perspectives on Capitalism, the State, and the New Piety” by Robert W. Hefner, in The Journal of Asian Studies, Nov. 2010, is reviewed in The Wilson Quarterly]. A Buddhist movement anchored in Bangkok is mentioned in the review. I don't have access to Hefner's piece, but I have attended a service of a peculiar sect in Yasothon that I was told originated in Taiwan, that I can only describe as a peculiar form of Trinitarianism, centered on Hotei as representing the Supreme Lord, Guanyin or Kuan Eim in Thai on his left standing on a turtle, and to his right a Scholar in peasant garb casually seated on a rock. Thees are on glassed-in stage, with a very strange looking Buddha in a glass box, centered at a lower level. It preaches a path to materiel wealth, so must be related somehow. --Pawyilee (talk) 15:00, 22 May 2011 (UTC)

International branches
[edit]I blanked the section because it was utterly void of sources. Feel free to add overseas churches, but only if WP:RE Secondary sources (preferably two per overseas branch church,) are also added. E.M.Gregory (talk) 16:27, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
