- Prose size (including all HTML code): 75 kB
- References (including all HTML code): 110 kB
- Wiki text: 135 kB
- Prose size (text only): 37 kB (6304 words) "readable prose size"
- References (text only): 14 kB
- Page design and layout compares favourably with other pages in Category:Central American national association football teams
- It is factually accurate and verifiable.
- a (reference section): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR): d (copyvio and plagiarism):
- Infobox ranking appears to be out. https://www.fifa.com/fifa-world-ranking/SLV gives a lowest ranking of 156
- Reference 4 goes to a sports website. It does not go to the website of the governing body, Salvadoran Football Federation?
- Reference 8 is a dead link.
- Reference 9 is available on the Wayback Machine.
- 1940's has a citation needed tag about Dr. Luis Rivas Palacios as president.
- 1950's has no citations for any matches except the win against Mexico. Needs sources.
- The paragraph on the 1970 World Cup and the Football War does not have sufficient citations. There are a lot of facts in that para with no citations, except reference to a book about War and Treaties?
- jostling the Bermudan linesman, Keith Dunstan, has a [citation needed] tag.
- 1980's - there are no citations for the World Cup qualification in the first paragraph.
- Reference 31 is a dead link.
- Reference 33 is incorrect, it is for a USSR - El Salvador match, not a match against Hungary.
- goal score in match against Hungary has a citation needed tag: encourage them to score more.[citation needed]. Find it or remove the statement.
- ditto could not afford to bring a full squad.[citation needed]
- ditto The remaining uniforms were said to have been taken away by the association.[citation needed]
- The paragraph about the World Cup campaign in Spain has 5 citation needed tags and insufficient references. It needs a lot of work.
- In the 2000's, reporting of who scored goals in matches is not relevant. This article is about the team, not the individuals, it is not a personality top scorer list. This is out of style with the remainder of the article. Remove individual goal scorers.
- drop with goals from Ramón Sánchez and Dennis Alas.
- drop with goals from Lázár Szentes and Ferenc Csongrádi for Hungary and two goals from Luis Ramírez Zapata for El Salvador.
- drop after a goal by Roger Espinoza
- drop with two goals by Osael Romero.
- References 60, 61 to FIFA are dead links.
- drop with goals scored by Rodolfo Zelaya (2) and Christian Javier Bautista.
- drop with goals from Bautista, Luis Anaya (2) and Xavier García
- drop with goals by Víctor Turcios, Steve Purdy, Jaime Alas and Herbert Sosa.
- drop The last of these was the thousandth goal scored by the national team this is not a relevant statistic.
- this is poor expression: earned him the wrath of the public.[citation needed] Who earned the wrath of the public? Where is the citation?
- All the material about the new coach Juan de Dios Castillo does not have citations.
- The entire paragraph for 2020's has no citations. It is also written in a style reminiscent of puffery and MOS:PEACOCK. This section needs reliable sources and rewriting.
- Reliable sources are needed for all the content in the first paragraph of match fixing.
- Reference 78 does not address the topic. An archival link is needed.
- The Borussia squad listing is irrelevant material for a page about the El Salvador national football team. Drop all of it.
- Reference 80, 81 (on the Wayback Machine) are both dead links.
- It is broad in its coverage.
- a (major aspects): b (focused):
- There are 13 citation needed tags on this page.
- The Early history section is good in its coverage. Online sources are excellent.
- Updates to the page tend to focus on current squad and recent call ups, top ten appearances, game history, player statistics, like this.
- Little attention is paid to history in page edits. One has to scroll back to 2013 to find detailed attention given to the history and activities of this team.
- It is clear that the current national squad has been transformed into a much younger team over the past few years. There is no coverage of this.
- There is no coverage of the recent strong results and wins in the current national campaigns. Surely 7-0, 4-0 wins deserve coverage???
- It follows the neutral point of view policy.
- Fair representation without bias:
- Neutral point of view is presented in the article.
- It is stable.

- It is illustrated by images and other media, where possible and appropriate.
- a (images are tagged and non-free content have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):

- Overall:
- Individual scorers are not necessary and belong in match reports, which are included in the schedule section commencing 2020
- This page would benefit from having the Internet Archive bot run over it to repair all the dead links.
- There is poor sourcing in recent history with 13 citation needed tags on the page, most notably in the 1980 section, which has been poorly sourced.
- The 2020's section, Match fixing also lack proper sources.
- Recent coaching and national selection has resulted a rather large transformation to a much younger team with different skillbase and talents. This is not covered in this article.
- This article will not retain its Good Article status unless a lot of work is done on it. --Whiteguru (talk) 06:19, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
