Revisions of today's edits
[edit]Looking at this article's IMDb page did not mention her role in the movie, Esta es mi familia (see: Eiza González). However, a web search produced this URL Esta es mi familia película con Eiza González, el Loco Valdez y Sergio Corona mentions her acting with other Mexican actors in this film. Based upon that, I will revert and incorporate of of this information as citations.--Morenooso (talk) 23:16, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
Introduction of material with a citation that does not support the quote
[edit]An anonymous IP introduced into the article a quote that supposedly was made at Premios Lo Nuestro with this citation: Eiza González actuará en Mujeres Asesinas. While it does mention her acting on that television show, the quote is not on that website and potentially is libelous which according to the talkheader should not appear in the article. There is no direct quote other than supposedly she said she was happy to be invited to participate and that she is finalizing the release of a new record. Additionally this anonymous IP added an unsourced comment based upon the citation provided today. That apparent observation is not in the citation and unsourced. It too will be removed.--Morenooso (talk) 01:44, 4 March 2010 (UTC)
- Editors continue to insert comments not found in a citation based upon something supposedly said at an awards show. Without a cited source, this involves original research because interpretations are being made. Reliable sources that directly quote the subject are necessary.
- The same comment was recently added back. It was removed today as per the discussion above.--Morenooso (talk) 22:06, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
Disagreement on this article's rating (Mid should be Low)
[edit]While this article's subject is an up-and-coming performer, Mid is a high rating for the content of the article and its overall importance to the Wikiproject. If she was single-handedly solving the problems of the nation or inventing the next-great-thing, that might warrant a Mid rating. Her article and importance do not rate Mid on a Wikiproject's scale.--Morenooso (talk) 01:51, 4 March 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah should be low, I put mid the last time. Antonio López (talk) 02:50, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
Citations
[edit]If an editor is unsure about to cite a direct quote, they should refer to how to cite a quote that may get challenged. This article has suffered because editors want to add in material that is subject to interpretation and not found in direct quotes. In an article on a living person, as per the talkheader above, unsourced questional edits especially those that may be libelous should be removed immediately. Please follow Wikipedia guidelines in editting this article. All edits should be neutral in the point of view being added. --Morenooso (talk) 08:37, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
Revert 2010-03-10
[edit]An editor deleted material and then added an unsourced section along with commentary into the first paragraph. The unsourced section is already covered in the article. This editor has only performed 20 edits and all of them came tonight on this article.--Morenooso (talk) 07:27, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
- It might be Marikagirl12 since that user does not use the preview button after many times warned, even transltaed the message in another language and sometimes forgets to log in (IPs are either college based, so it might be he or her), my guess and they edit in similar pattern, this has happened before. Antonio López (talk) 20:53, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
- It might be her. All twenty of the anonymous IP edits were to this article and it has not editted another. I can understand zeal but Wikipedia and articles like this one need to be written from a neutral point of view. The best way to describe this is listening to a professional reporter reading a term paper with proper citations. As long as no original research creeps into the editting, this article will be okay.
- I request other editors to monitor this page and try to keep it on a professional level. --Morenooso (talk) 20:59, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
- Not to worry, I have my eye on this article before the POV issues as you can see in the History page. I have both the article and the talk page on RSS, I check it regularly. Antonio López (talk) 23:39, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
- The anonymous IP is back and whittling away. I just issued it an Error Three Warning because it deleted material that is cited above the tables. --Morenooso (talk) 22:31, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

[edit]I believe her MySpace and Twitter page should be there since she doesn't have an official webiste. Chelo61 (talk) 20:17, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
- Per Wikipedia's official policy and my edit summary, social networking sites are not allowed. Period. --Morenooso (talk) 20:21, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
- I should add that this has been tried before and even by a somewhat famous actor (who shall not be named) who felt his/her Myspace page should be allowed. In a nutshell, the policy is non-negotiable. It got a bit unflattery because it was felt that if you're cheap enough not to build and buy your own website, you don't any business here). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Morenooso (talk • contribs) 20:26, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

Birth location source conflict
[edit]The Esmas.com sourced from 2010 says "Caborca, Sonora, Mexico", a graziamagazine.com source from 2024 says "Mexico City, Mexico". Emmas.com was an outlet of Televisa a major Mexican media company. Grazi Magazine is basically an Italian women's gossip magazine with dubious fact checking. Trust the Mexican source for more accurate info on a Mexican subject. Geraldo Perez (talk) 05:04, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- Also the Vogue Spanish outlet supported Mexico City. More reliable than Grazi but still mostly a gossip outlet, not a serious news source. Geraldo Perez (talk) 05:10, 31 October 2024 (UTC)

Birthplace
[edit]Eiza was born in Caborca, Sonora, Mexico, not Mexico City. Whoever keeps changing this, please stop. The information posted is correct and has been verified. Eiza's official biography states this (via Esmas), moreover, Eiza herself has stated that she was born in Sonora. She started her career in Mexico City, but was not born there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.96.110.153 (talk) 18:35, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- This "official" biography is wrong and old (2010), she was born in Mexico City, who is from Caborca are her parents. 5 minutes of research can prove it, but a guy calles Geraldo Perez continue spreading fake information. 2806:2F0:62A0:C8C6:54F6:95D5:BC72:AE8 (talk) 15:00, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- I put the true references but that guy Garaldo delete my editing with no reason. It's funny how he want to "protect the true information" with an old reference from 2010. So silly. 2806:2F0:62A0:C8C6:54F6:95D5:BC72:AE8 (talk) 15:05, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- Note that the Mexican Televisa source is also the reference for her full birthdate that is not mentioned in the foreign gossip magazine sources you are proposing. IMDb matches the Televisa source data. Your research is finding low quality references that are not superior to the original reference in the article. Gossip magazines in general do little or no fact checking. The TV network she was working for at time will not get basic info wrong. Take it to WP:BLPN if you think your sources are better than the bio provided by her employer. Later doesn't mean better, her birth data won't change with time, go with the quality of the sourcing not date of publication. Geraldo Perez (talk) 16:08, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
The two sources conflict which is the issue, not what they state with is not the point of this discussion. The Vogue info omits her full birthdate. The Esmas source gives her full birthdate and some other info in the article not covered by the Vogue source. Generally Vogue would be a good reference if we didn't have something better, which we do have and that has been in the article for more than 13 years.
