The originator of this article, Spartan26, has an “arms-length” relationship with the subject, having met her on four or five occasions through a mutual friend and having attended two of her performances prior to generating the article. The mutual friend has known the subject as a close friend for many, many years. The article is based upon a short essay by someone with a definite COI, and it was NOT the mutual friend.

(And now I see that I left an implication that the subject may have originated this article. That is not the case. The "someone" referred to above in my first post is another second-party and has known the subject for many years.) Spartan26 (talk) 18:57, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nevertheless, the article was written and submitted in good faith. I DO believe that the subject has achieved local, regional, national, and international regard within the cultural community sufficient to meet Wikipedia’s notability criteria, and that the included citations and other references are evidence of this. While I removed some peacock language from the original essay and reworded it in an attempt to achieve NPOV, some remained in the early drafts. I was also rusty at Wikipedia editing and style guidelines. I thank Sionk and Bearcat for their efforts in further editing and improving the initial article’s NPOV and style. I will continue to contribute to this article in attempts to elevate it to an exemplary class within the WikiProject Council’s quality scale, and will appreciate any contributions which will steer it back to NPOV, should I stray, or that elevate its quality.

I also note, as an aside and to assist in potential future disambiguation, that the subject of this article is the Canadian folksinger, NOT the American political commentator (wife of Dick Morris), nor the American art therapist, both of whom are also frequent hits on Web search engines when using just the first and last names as search terms. Spartan26 (talk) 23:44, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I also want to make clear that I understand Wikipedia's policy on ownership and here declare (and reiterate) that my hope is to see this article achieve "encyclopedic quality" through edits contributed by others and, occasionally, by myself. Spartan26 (talk) 18:57, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
