Michael Eifert
[edit]Hello, in the last paragraph, about Ernst Eifert's children, it is mentioned:
"Ernst had three children. Michael who moved to America, Auguste who married a clergyman, and Maximillian Carl Eifert. Max Eifert (1808–1888) was a theologian knighted twice; the Queen's Order of Olga in 1871, and the Friedrich Order–Knights Cross 1st Class–in 1874."
What information is available about Michael, who moved to America? I am descended from a Michael Eifert. Some in our family have attempted to link him with this family. However, our Michael Eifert was Catholic, which would make this seem unlikely. I have contacted descendants of Ernst's family in Germany, who don't know of a Michael Eifert.
