While all of the obituaries that I have found so far indicate that Efrem Zimbalist, Sr. was born on 21 April, all of the official and authoritative sources: 1. https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/1002/images/CT-2283880-5085?treeid=&personid=&hintid=&queryId=58c62b194af5f86e5fbe3087ba18586b&usePUB=true&_phsrc=OTq1&_phstart=successSource&usePUBJs=true&pId=1992248; 2. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-89HF-HKLV?i=275&cc=2060123&personaUrl=%2Fark%3A%2F61903%2F1%3A1%3AW9YQ-4VZM; 3. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G96B-CY1L?i=178&cc=2185145&personaUrl=%2Fark%3A%2F61903%2F1%3A1%3AQV5B-3Z4F; and 4. https://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?dbid=8997&h=35397&indiv=try&o_vc=Record:OtherRecord&rhSource=62116 all indicate birth on 9 April. Indeed, the draft registration document may be in Zimbalist's own handwriting. I have no idea why the obituaries indicate a birth date of 21 April. I believe that we can definitively say that such a date is wrong. Will someone more knowledgeable than I please change the birth date in the Introduction; I have tried to do so and failed. Composition
[edit]Presumably also composed the string quartet in E minor that Schirmer published in 1938 (though that could conceivably be by his son who was 19 or 20 at the time) ? Schissel | Sound the Note! 23:00, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
Some housekeeping is required.
[edit]Can someone kindly fill in the missing words under the 'Career' heading? A decent re-write would be in order as well.

Sources
[edit]Are there no published sources that could replace the numerous existing direct citations of Ancestry and Family Search records? Despite the distinctiveness of his name, this is still bordering on original research/ synthesis. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.109.196.217 (talk) 03:30, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
