Hello, CB. I will be reviewing this article tonight. This will be my first Good Article review for the WikiCup. It appears to be a pretty decent article, so it is almost GA-worthy. Anyway, I did find a few issues that I feel must be addressed before I pass this article.--12george1 (talk) 00:19, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • "In early July 2005, Hurricane Dennis brushed Jamaica, bringing torrential rain and damaging floods to the island nation." - I don't know if this is required, but shouldn't the opening sentence start with something like "The effects of Hurricane Dennis..."?
  • "Forming from a tropical depression on July 4," - I hate to sound nitpicky because this isn't the main article or the MH article, but why not say it formed near the Windward Islands?
  • I think the damage toll should be mentioned in the lead
  • There's some inconsistency with American vs. metric units. For example, "Many places recorded over 300 mm (12 in) of rain," vs. "accumulations peaked at 24.54 in (623 mm) in Mavis Bank."
  • "Bull Bay where graves were unearthered." - "unearthered" ---> "unearthed"
  • "Landslides in Portland Parish rendered roads impassible and damaged many homes." - The definition of "impassible" is "incapable of suffering or of experiencing pain". I'm pretty sure that should be "impassable" :P
  • "However, in combination with the effects of a drought early in 2005, inflation values required adjustment upwards from 9% to 14.3%[12]" - There's no period at the end of that sentence
  • Overall, it was a pretty decent article. Just fix these issues in a timely manner and I will have no problem passing it and listing it as a Good Article.--12george1 (talk) 00:19, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
