Actors affected by Strike?
[edit]I notice that in some shows like NCIS or CSI: Miami, for instance, some or at least one of the main cast ended up leaving in the season affected by the strike. But whether they left because of the strike is unknown, by me at least. If casts of shows were affected by the strike, shouldn't that be mentioned in the article?

Specific seasons in the shows with shortened seasons table
[edit]The shortened seasons table looks like it could do with updating for the specific seasons affected on each show with links to that seasons wiki page where applicable. I'm going to look to start this work in the near future but wanted to leave this message here so anyone could object if there's a reason not to. I haven't looked at other tables to see if there's a similar need but will have a glance and note it here for reference when I get a chance. SPACKlick (talk) 14:18, 24 January 2015 (UTC)
- I've started this at my sandbox. I'm debating adding a column vs just adding it to the first column and will see which works better. iCarly doesn't seem to be missing any episodes. SPACKlick (talk) 15:15, 26 January 2015 (UTC)
Condense?
[edit]Is it necessary to have so much detail now that we're 8 years out from the strike? Some information here, such as the status of ongoing series, isn't really needed in such detail now and can be accommodated within the individual articles for each series. Certainly the "Cancelled during strike" section probably doesn't need a table anymore; a simple list would suffice with the applicable series articles covering the details of cancellation (especially given that most of the shows listed, notwithstanding the inherent notability of airing on a national network (so I'm not disputing the existence of separate articles), are barely notable on their own merits; a few I would hazard are only notable for being cancelled due to the strike). If I didn't notice above an indication that someone has been working on this article within this calendar year I might have followed WP:BOLD and done some pruning myself. 68.146.52.234 (talk) 14:17, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
- Please feel free to be Bold. The tables I edited (which show what season number of each show is short because of the strike I found useful when re-watching box sets, most of the other information feels excessive it could probably do with a prune. SPACKlick (talk) 14:38, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
Unknown effects section
[edit]A decade later, I don't think this section is needed anymore. If any shows listed here were impacted by the strike, they can be moved to the appropriate section. For example, Tell Me You Love Me was renewed but later cancelled, yet there's no indication this was due to the strike. 136.159.160.8 (talk) 16:09, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
SpongeBob needs to be removed from the list of shows affected by the strike
[edit]The cited source does not talk about how the show was affected by the 2007 WGA strike but instead talks about how Nickelodeon fired writers from multiple shows (including SpongeBob) in the early 2000s because of their writers joining the WGA.
