They speak Sudanese?
[edit]There is no Sudanese language. What should this be? --AW 15:49, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
this says they speak Efe. --AW 15:53, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
The text does not quote the source correctly.
[edit]Bailey's treatises on the history of the pygmy do not associate the Lese-Efe relationship with the arrival of European colonists, but places the event at least hundreds of years earlier. He indicates that the hunter-gatherer way of life of the pygmies may have been in response to the in-migration of the Lese and may not have been their original way of life.
Implying that the Belgians created this society is a bit of anti-colonial claptrap. The Belgians tended to maintain current societal structures, although they clearly engaged the Africans they colonised as a work force. Mbabane 21:16, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
The article needs to be re-written to accurately place references to statements.
[edit]The references are not specific to the text. Furthermore, the referenced authors (e.g. Bailey) have more recent works that clarify the references. furthermore, the text adds interpretations not present in the original references.
I am re-formatting and re-writing the article to be more academic about it. Mbabane 21:21, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- Sounds good. What about the Sudanese language question? --AW 21:45, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
