Appointment/promotion
[edit]In the 'Later career' section, it states that he was "...appointed Lieutenant-General". I always thought that 'Lieutenant General' was a rank (my emphasis), not an appointment. Indeed, in the same section, at the beginning, the quote is "...appointed commander [the appointment] of 3rd Division"... The normal way of things is to be promoted to the rank and appointed to the post. The 'Lieutenant General' article says that 'Lt G' is a rank.
Could somebody, with the appropiate reference, do the honours and change it?
