I believe the article is incorrect...
[edit]the Article text states Ahrens killed 15 japanese. if you read the actual citation it says " Although mortally wounded, he succeeded in killing the officer in command of the hostile unit and two other Japanese, thereby breaking up the attack"
I believe the actions of Private Ahrens are glorious enough without any significant 'embellishment'. I'd suggest a rewrite to ' Private Ahrens engaged a small unit of Japanese soldiers Killing the Officer in charge and two others, breaking up the attack and allowing his unit to hold their position. Private Ahrens was mortally wounded but stood his station until relieved"...
