Current Plans
Hi there! I just wanted to direct your attention towards my proposal in my sandbox. Specifically, I plan on splitting this article into 5 sections. In the History section, I plan on discussing how Malian education has changed since the end of French rule. Next, in the Forms of Education section, I'll discuss primary, secondary, higher, and nontraditional education in Mali. In this section, I hope to incorporate the existing information on this page. For the Literacy section, I'll detail the reasons and consequences of the low levels of literacy in Mali and post literacy initiatives. Next, in the Issues section, I plan on discussing Malian education issues such as how gender, geographic location, and disease affect educational opportunities. Finally, I'll end with a section about government initiatives to improve education in Mali. Please feel free to check out my sandbox for more information about my plans and an annotated bibliography. Let me know how I can improve these plans. Happy editing! Prashanth314 (talk) 00:11, 2 October 2019 (UTC)
Potential Sections to Add
Hi there! I thought this article did a great job talking about primary and secondary education in Mali. Additionally, I liked how the authors maintained a neutral tone, started off with a strong lead, and supported all of the information with good sources and images. However, I'm currently considering working on this page a bit more to make it reflect similar pages about education. Specifically, I want to add more information about literacy in Mali. I was especially surprised that a Literacy in Mali page currently does not exist. However, in my research for this article, I discovered a lot more information about education which is what drew me to this page. In addition to adding information about literacy, I also plan on detailing the history of education in Mali, government policies to address this issue, post-literacy, the impacts of food and malaria on education, and the role of gender in education in Mali. I have similar information about my plans on my User Page. Please feel free to check it out and take a look at some of the resources I plan on using. I'm open to any suggestions as well. Let me know what you think about my ideas. Happy editing! Prashanth314 (talk) 01:55, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
Literacy Section Draft
Please feel free to check out the bottom of my Sandbox for my initial draft of the literacy section. I added a few statistics from 2018 and two subsections about post literacy and integrated literacy. Definitely let me know how I can improve this section! Revisions
Hi there! I went ahead and finished adding in the new sections and subsections I wrote. I did my best to incorporate the previous information from the page but removed any information that had broken citations. Please feel free to look over my work and let me know how I can make it better. Happy editing! - Prashanth314 (talk) 03:50, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
PJHC Peer Review
I thought you did a great job with the extensive content of the revisions – they are very thorough and will definitely give readers a better understanding of the job. You also did a good job providing a wide range of up to date scholarly sources, using pictures that supplemented the article, and organizing the article sections logically. My main pieces of advice would be to touch up the repetitiveness in the introduction, increase the amount of scholarly points of view (if they are available) and ad more links to some specific government agencies and people so that readers can look for more elaboration if they want it. Overall, great job! Claudia Paine22 (talk) 16:07, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
Peer review
Great job on the article! Your article was well-organized and easy to follow, and also provided a fairly comprehensive overview of both the history of education as well as barriers to education in Mali. You also included a wide range of peer reviewed sources, but I think you should provide a little more context each time you cite a source (e.g. more details on the research, type of study, author, setting). The section on "Forms of Education" could also perhaps be better organized, but overall, I think you did a great job! Emmaaa00 (talk) 04:57, 31 October 2019 (UTC)
