The content overall was wide covered with different level of Brazilian education, teaching qualification, statistics and relation with internationalization. The introduction paragraph briefly and precisely described how Brazilian education administrates federally and locally. The information overall are all new and recent, and reliable as most of those were from official statistics and websites.

History: The section is about the overall development of Brazilian education since early settlements to present. The colonial era was well covered with chronological order of Jesuit education, Catholicism-centered curriculum and Brazilians’ direction on seeking education in old times. This is a wide and detailed coverage of the early times and the influence of European education. Everything in the section is relevant to each other as it might expanded too much on schools in Europe, which it might distract readers who are focusing on Brazil. However, it would be better that the editor could cover the history of education after the republic was founded after the abolition of slavery, as Estado Novo had huge social change in nationalism, gender roles and degeneration. More information should be presented on the modern times when Brazil was seeking for modernity and how it is in Brazil today as well. Therefore, readers could have a detailed overview of the development of education in Brazil. There is little citation in the section and only some of those appeared at the very last few paragraphs. It would be better if there is any means to retrieve the sources from the early top paragraphs in the section. I am uncertain about the sources, as I have no Portugues background on some of those, but some English ones do not have clear links to the sources. The section overall is very neutral and a summary of historical facts.

Organization and Structure: Everything is neutrally and fully covered in the section by clearly and precisely classifying the level of education by preschool, basic and higher. University education was widely covered. The description about different types of education was precise and the sources were from Encyclopedia Britannica when explaining terms. It would be better if those terms were explained by some Brazilian websites, which it could also show Brazilian education’s core value. Some sources were not cited in the section while presenting pre-school, elementary school and high school. Therefore, it was hard to trace back to the reliability of the information presented. High school education could be expanded on the testing system, core courses, and entrance requirements. Other parts were relatively more detailed than high school section. The information covered is all very new and they are mostly from the recent reports. It would be better if they clearly categorize the level of education and schools clearly.

Teacher training and qualification: The information regarding teacher training is not widely covered as there is no citation for this part, and it is hard to retrieve the information to reference. It would be better if the section could cover information on what the training course requires potential teachers to have in order to qualify and the evaluation of schools after teachers pass the training. Everything in this section were well focused.

Educational Statistics: The information is very new and precisely presented. It would be better if the editor could update the information like data from 2017.

International Education: The sources are new and recent and the official website covered different international schools and their educational core values. It would be better that the section could present the geographic locations of international schools, enrollment and targeted recruiting groups.

The article is good. Starting from the introductory and history section, the information was well covered and detailed. The writing overall is neutral and scholarly written. I wish you could provide the latest data on education as it is back in 2014. It would be better if the data is from 2017. Potential additions regarding education inequalities

The issues section can be expanded to include more information regarding inequalities in education (or another section can be made), both in terms of class and race.
