Not an Olympian
[edit]So to the best of my understanding, the individual represented in this article, while notable in his own right, is not the Eduard von Falz-Fein who participated in the bobsledding events at the 1936 Winter Olympics and Sports Reference is mistaken. This individual is Eduard Oleg Aleksandrovich von Falz-Fein and, while he did bobsled and was actually present at the 1936 Games (but only as a journalist), he did not compete at these (or any) Games. This explains why articles about him (see for example: [1] and the announcement of his 100th birthday in the article) don't mention his bobsledding participation.
According to [2] the individual who actually competed in 1936 was a relative, Eduard Theodor von Falz-Fein, born 4 June 1912 and died 17 June 1974. Given all of the similarities between the two (name, YOB, both bobsledders, both attending the 1936 Games), it's easy to see how these two individuals got mixed up. I'll update the article and leave a note. Canadian Paul 15:48, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
