I would love to say how wonderful and lovely the late, great Edna Savage was. For all her acheivements and shear love, she (in my opinion), never quite got the real credit for what she truly deserved.
Edna was a "true" lady, soft, gentle and petite, with passion and drive. A voice of an angel with such precise and perfect diction(who can say that of many of todays singers?), that was so calming but meaningfull also.
A "lass" who should have had so much more success in media and TV work, suddenly became a "once" great who WAS nearly forgotten......but only nearly. Others somehow, managed to "over-shaddow" her.
Those who knew her became enthralled and captivated by her love, humour and passion along with this drive and veiw on life, and in all aspects of life itself too. Edna like most also had a hard time, especially in those days.
"Late" and "Great", to many is all they will remember of Edna, along with that gorgeous voice. But I'll remember the funny, sweet, kind-hearted, loving and passionate woman that was, (and still is) with all my heart n soul.
Her two daughter's(twins)Samantha and Allison and her grandchildren, Christopher-John, and who she sadly never got to see, Abi-louise(but maybe from heaven), All miss her terribly. Probally along with admirer's?
Her passion and drive would probally shock and scare many of todays "wanna-be's".
At 16 years old from a small town called Warrington in Cheshire(Lancashire in the 50's), setting off for that mad "world" called London to embark on an unforeseen career, Whats the chance's.. ? But Edna DID make it and I'm sure set some of the goals for todays artist's, look at all the talent shows we have now! A real first and aswell, a girl from a small town in London at 16. Edna, I'm sure was the REAL first and the real deal!
Passion and goals are for some(me) just a dream that eludes us all,.. If only we could come close to this GREAT woman, with that drive and determination, dreams that we DO just dream, whats possible?
Samantha,Allison,Chris,Abi, all her family and I think and know, this lady, mum and grandmother is the best!
Sadly missed, but never forgotten!!
All our LOVE.. Kelvin(Newton)
