Knighthood?

[edit]

The Tasmanian Parliament website says that Dwyer-Gray had the title "Sir", but I can find no other reference to this title, or to a knighthood (in the usual reference sources for these, It's an Honour, Australian Dictionary of Biography and the London Gazette). Confusingly there are some references on Trove to his father which call him "Sir Edmund Dwyer Gray", but a knighthood is not mentioned in the article about Edmund Dwyer Gray. If anyone discovers any confirmation that either father or son was knighted, please note it here, as I'm beginning to suspect it's an error. I'm going to remove the references to Sir unless confirmation is forthcoming as his own obituaries don't mention it either. --Canley (talk) 12:14, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
