[edit]This page currently contains plagiarism. My partner and I have been working to write a better page in my sandbox, that is original work and not copied from sources. In the next couple days, we will be replacing most of the current page with our work. Lin Henke (talk) 17:48, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
Not all points backed up with a citation. For example: "She remained in Louisiana until 1868, despite acts of violence aimed at her. The next year she gave up teaching for work as a paid lecturer. At the end of her career, Highgate traveled through the north and spoke on “Five Years Among Southern Loyalists"." contains no citations, despite including several historical facts. Where are the sources for this section? --Lin Henke (talk) 19:37, 25 January 2020 (UTC)
Hi Jhonore43 Palmer nix46 Slin3399 this is looking better, and I've reached out to our wiki edu expert to see about next steps! Feel free to continue improving, to improve our chances here. --T. Danylevich (talk) 19:17, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
Hi Jhonore43 I would recommend using the subheadings as this will generate a TOC for you after you have a few. Also to format the citations/references properly. --T. Danylevich (talk) 03:40, 31 October 2019 (UTC)
Jhonore43I found this that may be useful: https://herb.ashp.cuny.edu/items/show/1530 --T. Danylevich (talk) 03:50, 7 November 2019 (UTC)

Really interesting stuff!
Comments death and afterward section maybe make a better connection with the abortion statement? not clear how it’s relevant More information on her death or on her shooting ? who, place , why also maybe simply say she was shot twice, maybe?
Career what year did she return home to recover? think it would be helpful to have this career segment in chronological order so it’s clear .Nanaofori-atta (talk) 12:59, 5 November 2019 (UTC)Nana
1. The lead: does it give us a clear overview of the page and contents? The article still needs a lead. It jumps into biographical facts right away. There seems to be a lot of information in this article, so a quick overview might be helpful to orient the reader. 2. The writing overall: is it well-sourced (i.e. every statement and fact has a source, even if it repeats) and is it neutral, objective, and unbiased; does it contain errors? The sources seem reliable, but right now you can’t tell where each piece of information comes from; this should be easy to fix once the sources are properly formatted. The tone of the writing is very good, but a there are a few sentence fragments that need to be fixed. When converting the article from bullet-point form into paragraph-form, it would be nice to add in some transitional phrases to make the article flow better. 3. Are there links to other pages within wikipedia? Do these make sense? What might you suggest? There are no links right now. Possible ones to include are any schools or locations mentioned and the New Orleans Massacre. 4. Are there “external links”? Do these make sense? What might you suggest? There are no external links. If you are looking for one, I might suggest linking to some sort of source about the Pennsylvania Freedmen’s Relief association since there doesn’t appear to be a Wikipedia page for it. 5. What do you think this piece could benefit from, overall, assuming the sources/information are available? Finally, does it adhere to the Wikipedia guidelines of biographies of (a) women and (b) (if relevant) living persons? Other than adding in a photo, this article seems pretty comprehensive and adheres to the guidelines we discussed. Aac144 (talk) 03:59, 6 November 2019 (UTC)

Abby's Peer Review
[edit]1. I think there could be more of a lead to introduce the topics that are to come, before jumping right into her biography. 2. The information seems to be well sources, but citations could be clearer as to tell the reader where each piece of information comes from. 3. I don’t see any links to other wikipedia pages but would recommend linking to New Orleans, the school if there is a page for it, or the New Orleans Massacre event. 4. I don’t see any external links. It doesn’t negatively impact the overall article, but as Nana suggested, maybe try linking to the Pennsylvania Freedmen’s Relief association. 5. The article seems to be off to a great start but could use the addition of a photo and the addition of subheadings — Preceding unsigned comment added by Asauvs (talk • contribs) 15:51, 6 November 2019 (UTC)
