Non-winemaking branch?

[edit]

Altough I know that statement originates from the NY Times, I think it's nevertheless clearly misleading. Today, this branch owns and manages the Compagnie Vinicole Baron Edmond de Rothschild which includes winemaking activities on three continents, including five chateaus in Bordeaux, most notably the Chateau Clarke. In addition, Benjamin de Rothschild, who is the head of this branch is actively involved in the management of Les Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Chateau Lafite) as chairman of the supervisory board. See [1] and [2]. There may have been no winemaking activities in 1953 when the group was founded, but this sentence in the lead suggests this information represents the current state of things. Any thoughts anyone? Fred Plotz (talk) 19:40, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rothschild Bank AG belongs to Rothschild & Co, not EdR

[edit]

"in 2017, Luxembourg authorities fined $10.1 million the local arm of private bank Edmond de Rothschild for its handling of funds linked to Malaysian investment fund 1MDB" (ref: [3]) is a misleading and wrong information because the issue concerns Rothschild Bank AG, a subsidiary of Rothschild & Co (Rothschild Bank AG is mentioned several times on Co's page, easily verifiable), which does not belong to the same branch of the Rothschild family. EdR is not mentioned/associated at all in this affair. --193.37.32.143 (talk) 04:59, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
