I changed the definition to "joining two adjacent zero-dimensional vertices" because the diagonal of a cube (or square) is not an edge. Do you agree?

Remove zero-dimensional and one-dimensional?
[edit]I think that we can remove the word "zero-dimensional" and possibly "one-dimensional". A vertex is a point, which is zero-dimensional. While an edge is a line segment, the article on line segment does not explicitly mention a line segment as being one-dimensional, which might lead to some confusion.
