Let's try getting the facts straight.
[edit]Steele was already in custody when the pipebomb was found on his wife's car. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.42.0.179 (talk) 17:16, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
- Exactly. This article makes no sense as it is. There's either missing or wrong information or the real case is a fraud. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:908:695:F920:41F9:45F1:FB7B:F91 (talk) 20:53, 4 January 2020 (UTC)
Deleted material
[edit]I have recently deleted some material and sources from this article. The material was either original research, i.e. unreferenced, or poorly cited. Controversial material in WP:BLP articles should be sourced from first rate sources only IMO. The sources which I deleted looked second rate or third rate to me. So I deleted them.-MangoWong (talk) 16:27, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
- An editor has expressed concerns that it was improper to delete most/all of the things which I deleted. Please discuss them here so that the issue can be sorted out.-MangoWong (talk) 02:05, 8 August 2011 (UTC) Note: I mistakenly removed this comment when I added mine; I have no idea what happened, but I'm putting it back now. Apologies.
- MangoWong, can you please explain why you removed the Spokesman-Review sources? If you look at The Spokesman Review, as well as look at the About page of the newspaper itself, you'll see that it is a normal daily newspaper, and is, in fact the third largest newspaper in Washington State. In general, that should qualify it to be a reliable source. Was there something specific in those articles that bothered you? Qwyrxian (talk) 05:46, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
- I had put up one more comment here. Why did you delete it?-MangoWong (talk) 07:43, 8 August 2011 (UTC) About the material in those spokesman-review articles, I have no problem. I deleted them only because it looked like a second rate source to me.-MangoWong (talk) 07:46, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
- You were wrong - see Wikipedia:RSN#Edgar_Steele. Please revert. I can fix them. - Sitush (talk) 10:35, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
- Apologies, MW; I have no idea why I deleted your other comment. I must have selected it in error when I added mine. You are correct that it is basically always wrong to remove others' talk page comments (with special exceptions, like spam, BLP vios, and on one's own user talk page). I have re-added your comment. Qwyrxian (talk) 12:47, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
- You were wrong - see Wikipedia:RSN#Edgar_Steele. Please revert. I can fix them. - Sitush (talk) 10:35, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks Qwyrxian. @ Sitush. You can revert all of my edits in this article and do whatever you want. I do not have any set views on the matter. But why are folks talking as if I deleted some deadlinks simply because of being deadlinks?-MangoWong (talk) 14:07, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
- You can revert, as I asked you to do. I am not a mindreader & cannot answer your other point. I would say that if you do not have "any set views on the matter" then it is usually best to leave cites etc alone or raise a simple query on the relevant talk page, not go cutting stuff without even having any view regarding what you are cutting. - Sitush (talk) 16:59, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
Wife Says He Is Innocent
[edit]I'm not interested in what David Duke has to say. I'm not intetested in his defense of Butler of Aryan Nations. If half of what is written on this sheet is even true, I don't share his views. But if his own wife says he did not attempt to kill her and that the government is framing him to shut him up, I believe it. There are other people the USA has framed because of their views or deported because of pressure from certain groups. The list of serious historians that are in jail because of "holocaust denial" is long. David Irving, the international bestselling author and widely acknowledged to be the most knowledgable historian of WW II was put in jail for a year in 2005. There is a definite pattern that the so-called "democracies" harrass and jail people they don't agree with. Mostly right wing people, but not all. Britain and Sweden are conspiring to shut Wikileaks down by jailing its owner Julian Assange on trumped up rape charges.
To sum up my statement, I think his man was most likely framed, otherwise why would the person he supposed tried to kill say he is innocent and also say the gov't is lying. Also, while I don't agree with racism, the USA is a hypocritical country whose foreign policy is run by racists. Israel runs the USA's foreign policy and it is one of the most racist countries in the world. It prohibits marriages between different peoples, prohibits Arabs from using their roads and generally harasses Arabs. Its is not a democracy and its racist, but the US (and wikipedia) supports it 100%. Your hypocrisy is obvious. Pgg804 (talk) 03:53, 13 November 2011 (UTC)
- Much of the above could be more diplomatic and some is off topic. However the point of the wife strongly asserting the innocence of her husband in a case like this is highly unusual and needs to be addressed. I therefore restored her post.Trojancowboy (talk) 06:34, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
- I can't find a single Federal murder for hire case like this where the supposed victim has testified for the defendant. Can anyone with access to Federal Appeals Reports tell me if this is correct? It seems to me that the opinion of the supposed victim should be given considerable weight.
- Is it normal to get 50 years for attempted murder? Seems a bit harsh considering that he failed to injure anyone. 24.125.199.54 (talk) 12:30, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
- Another White Gnat pretending to be neutral. * yawn* Remind us who in the US is jailed for Holodenial? Irving was jailed by the Austrians. The USA is more liberal in that regard. 109.159.119.161 (talk) 18:27, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- Please give sources where his wife says he's innocent. If there are no objections then, this should be put into the article. --41.151.19.28 (talk) 17:14, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

Claim that family supports Steele
[edit]This is relevant, I suppose, as it's rare that the victim of a crime publicly advocates for the perp. But we have to specify which family members. It is potentially defamatory to say that the extended family of Steele supports him and his allegation that his arrest and conviction constituted a government conspiracy to silence him. Steeletrap (talk) 05:02, 18 May 2014 (UTC)
Hatred and Prejudice
[edit]I get the feeling that being an outspoken white that advocates for your own people in the USA is like being a Jew in NAZI Germany, except that being a Jew in NAZI Germany was never like it is claimed to have been like.186.4.230.4 (talk) 22:44, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
