[edit]According to Eagle and LeBlanc in Blues: A Regional Experience - usually a reliable source - he was not born in Jamaica in 1923 but in Dothan, Alabama in 1928. Is there any more definite information one way or the other? Ghmyrtle (talk) 14:25, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
