The page for Ed Clark, a noted photographer for Life magazine in the 20th Century, lists his birthplace as Nashville, Tenn.
I'm a reporter for the Shelbyville (Tenn.) Times-Gazette; I interviewed Mr. Clark in 1986 and published a story about it in the Dec. 3, 1986, edition, page 6, entitled "Ed Clark's Life Magazine Career Is An Adventure Story."
Mr. Clark was NOT born in Nashville. He was born in rural Bedford County, Tenn., on Bottle Hollow Road between the unincorporated communities of Singleton and Raus. His family did not move to Nashville until he was six years old. Unfortunately, I don't think under Wikipedia rules I'm supposed to make this particular edit, because I'd be using my own news story as the reference. But Mr. Clark told me this personally, I published it in the story, and he sent me a thank-you note praising the story for its accuracy.

- AFAIK, there's no guideline preventing you from citing a published article, even if you yourself wrote it. Both the New York Times and the Tennessee Encyclopedia say he was born in Nashville, but I can make a suitable amendment if you can provide some substantiation.
