Caribbean?
[edit]In at least two places, including the first sentence, the Bahamas is said to be in the Caribbean. But conventionally the Caribbean only includes places that are in or on the edge of the Caribbean Sea, and the area containing both the Caribbean islands and those in the Lucayan (Bahamas and Turks and Caicos) archipelago is called the West Indies. This convention is upheld in our article Caribbean (see second paragraph of the lead). While sometimes the convention is flouted to avoid wordiness at the expense of precision, I think we should stick to the conventional wording. Loraof (talk) 19:58, 22 March 2019 (UTC)
