Utter Rubbish
[edit]This page reads like a Trade Promotion Website Homepage. --Ask27 (talk) 11:04, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
I agree, the content seems to be biased towards highlighting only the positive aspects of the city's economy, there by, though unintended, seems like a promotion site. It could be more balanced, covering the deficiencies in the economy as well. Ask27, if you think the content is deficient or have any suggestions on how it can be improved, please put them across constructively--Praveen chandar (talk) 11:06, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
- Agree that the balance is tilted here. The problem is with the sources. The newspapers and magazines depend on advertisers and industries and a majority of the coverage is extolling the virtues of Cbe as investor destination. I for one would start by removing the rankings from the lead (they are subjective) and moving them into the body. --Sodabottle (talk) 14:14, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

Retail and E-commerce
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined. |
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
Please review the following content to include
Several e-commerce companies are based out of Coimbatore including gajgallery.com and helmetdon.in[1]</nowiki>
Also include any other e-ecommerce websites in Coimbatore. Ramcoimbatore (talk) 04:40, 6 October 2017 (UTC)
References
- ^ "Contact Us". Helmet Don. Retrieved 2017-07-03.
Note - I am a Freelance paid editor disclosed and I am being paid by Helmetdon either directly or indirectly for my services. Ramcoimbatore (talk) 04:44, 6 October 2017 (UTC)
- As it stands the proposal will not fly since we do not use embedded in-text URLs, not ever (see WP:EL). In addition to that, the proposed content has nothing to do with providing readers with knowledge but rather about is about promoting helmetdon. I will not do the formal response since I interacted with you to get the disclosure done; we can wait for someone else to do the formal review. But no one is going to accept this with the embedded URL in the content. Jytdog (talk) 17:01, 6 October 2017 (UTC)
- Jytdog is correct. The purpose of a Wikipedia article is to provide a relevant summary of information to readers. For comparison, Everett, Washington quite justifiably mentions Boeing, since the aircraft company is the largest employer in the city. But on the other hand, Wikipedia is not a directory. This article ought not to list every single e-commerce website in Coimbatore, especially if they have not demonstrated a significant impact on the city. Altamel (talk) 03:47, 7 October 2017 (UTC)
- Going by the same proposed yard stick of Boeing the businesses names listed under Retail and E commerce and Real Estate and Hospitality and under many other topics have to be removed as they are also insignificant to Economy of Coimbatore and promotional in nature. Please review and advise if the edit can be done without embedded link in the content. Ramcoimbatore (talk) 09:57, 9 October 2017 (UTC)
- See WP:POINT. But yes this page in Wikipedia has been abused a great deal - I wouldn't even call it a "Wikipedia article". It is mostly a horrible pile of advertising. See the topmost section above. Jytdog (talk) 21:02, 9 October 2017 (UTC)
