Overhauling citations & references; overall article quality

[edit]

As of June 2016, I've found this article to be in exceptionally poor shape. I just finished going through the body text and cleaning up all of the citations and references, most of which were incomplete and some of which contained questionable markup (i.e. "<!--not the best link but all I could find--->"). After clean-up and consolidation of duplicate references, this article is now supported by only one live reference. Two of the previous references are dead-links. Certain bits of the article here and there may represent original research (WP:OR) or synthesis (WP:SYN), as it seems that previous editors were simply appending references of varying quality to support previously uncited claims. In summary, the article needs significant attention to bring it up to current Wikipedia standards. —Jgcoleman (talk) 15:49, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
