Speedy deletion?
[edit]This is a major record label album. One of the singles from it was a top 10 hit in the UK. The band are notable. This is clearly not a speedy deletion candidate! If it needs work in other respects, please let me know. --DanielRigal (talk) 12:09, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
- Only album from this band and I cannot see any reason for it, as an album, to have its own article. Perhaps a section in the band's article, but this is a stub with no substance that I can see. If you can show me that it has notability I will happily remove the tag. I am also happy for you to contest it and take it to AfD to get a wider perspective if you prefer. - A tracklisting in a band article is messy, so i would like to avoid that. They do actually have a second album (I need to correct that) but that is self-published and does not get an article. I will find some references for this as a separate article. --DanielRigal (talk) 12:17, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
- It is also my first album article. I was working under a misunderstanding of the rules. I though that major-label albums by notable bands were automatically notable without extra coverage. I have checked wp:music and realise that I was copying other people's bad practices. As I say, I will sort it out. --DanielRigal (talk) 12:22, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
- The only good review I can find is the NME one but I know it was reviewed more widely. Most of the sources of UK music reviews do not have searchable archives (or do not go back to 2000). I also can't find a good source for UK album chart stats. I know the article could be better but I think this is enough to avoid speedy deletion. I am going to leave it for now. --DanielRigal (talk) 14:09, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
I still feel that this article fails notability, but it is a lot better than it was when I first saw it. I'll leave it for a couple of days and see whether or not to AfD it. DiverScout (talk) 17:52, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
