Factual error
[edit]Factual error on baseball team winning first national title for ECU (NAIA 1961). Actually, the men's swimming & diving team won two national titles prior to 1961 (NAIA titles in 1957 and 1959). The wikipedia article on "NAIA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships" lists ECU as champions in those 2 years although the source for this wikipedia article is now a dead link. See http://www.ecupirates.com/history/ecu-trads-highlights.html for mention of 1957 NAIA men's swimming & diving title. (1959 title is not mentioned here.) Ds63 (talk) 05:19, 22 March 2015 (UTC)
- Ds63, I think you are misreading it. The article states "In 1961, the ECU Pirates won the NAIA Baseball World Series championship to claim East Carolina's first National Championship in baseball." It states it as the first for the baseball team, not ECU Athletics' first overall. Corky | Chat? 05:54, 22 March 2015 (UTC)
