GAN on hold

[edit]

I have reviewed this article according to the requirements of the GA criteria and have placed the article on hold until the following issues are addressed. As you address each issue, state how you addressed it (if necessary). If you disagree with a particular issue, state your rationale for doing so after the issue in question so a compromise can be reached.

  1. In the lead, the second paragraph is lacking ending punctuation.
  2. The winners for the 2011 WGAs have been announced, make sure to update the lead.
  3. We can have one non-free image in the infobox if there is an adequate FUR included on the image's page. Good job on adding the free image of Lane though.
  4. "The episode begins with Haley..." The sentence doesn't need the lead in, just start with "Haley..." (make sure to adjust the tense for the rest of the sentence).
  5. "Soon Phil convinces Luke (Nolan Gould) the bookshelf didn't fall." Contractions should not be used in articles unless in quotes. Fix all occurrences.
  6. "...to Haley is because Haley is Claire." This should be clarified as it could be confusing to readers.
  7. "Meanwhile Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) & Mitchell..." "and Mitchell". Fix any other occurrences, ampersands should not be used in articles unless part of a title.
  8. "The episode was written by Paul Corrigan & Brad Walsh making it their fifth writing credit for the series. The episode..." Reword one of the beginnings of the sentences as it sounds redundant.
  9. "The episode also tied for being the highest rated scripted show with Glee's "Grilled Cheesus"." The lead lists it as the highest rated Wednesday show, and here with another show. Fix the dabs for Glee.
    I don't quite understand #9 NoD'ohnuts (talk) 17:19, 5 March 2011 (UTC)NoD'ohnuts[reply]
Currently, if you click on the link for Glee, it goes to a disambiguation page. You need to specify what article the link should take the readers to, in this case the TV show. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 23:32, 5 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  10. "TV Squad's Joel Keller gave the episode a positive review "that...". Lead into the review instead of just pasting it in, maybe "positive review, writing that "it was a...".
  11. "James Poniewozik of Time..." Time should be italicized. Do the same for TV Guide. TV Squad is also linked to twice in the same section.
  12. "and October 9, 2010.[19]Paul Corrigan..." Fix the spacing between the citation and the name.
  13. For the citations' titles, they shouldn't be in all caps. Fix citations 1 & 14.
  14. "Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh are received a nomination for an Episodic Comedy at the 2010 Writers Guild of America Awards" Fix the tense; also, which WGA awards is it? 2010 or 2011 (the lead says 2011).

Some of the above issues were raised in the peer review, make sure to go back and fix any other issues I may have overlooked. Altogether, this article was informative on the topic and is well-sourced. Most of the above issues shouldn't be too difficult to address, but if you have any questions on them, please let me know. I have left the article on hold for seven days for the issues to be addressed. If they are fixed in this time, I will pass the article. If not, the article may be failed and can be renominated at WP:GAN. If necessary to address the above issues, and progress is being made, an extension may be provided. If you have any questions or when you are done, let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 01:11, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I went through and re-wrote the plot and added a screenshot with a FUR to the infobox. Address the remaining issues above that are new or weren't resolved the first time and I'll pass the article. Let me know if there are any questions. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 05:23, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

GA passed

[edit]

Good job with addressing the above issues. I believe the article meets the GA criteria and have passed the article. I would recommend for any future episode nominations to have another editor or two copyedit the article. There were a lot of simple mistakes for this article that should have been fixed prior to nominating. Continue to maintain the article to ensure it upholds its GA status. I would recommend using WebCite to archive all of the citations to prevent linkrot.

Also, to anyone that is reading this review, please consider reviewing an article or two at WP:GAN to help with the very large backlog. Instructions can be found here. Each new reviewer that helps to review articles will help to reduce the time that articles wait to be reviewed. If you are new to reviewing and want to familiarize yourself with the process, study the GA criteria, look at other editors' reviews, and leave any questions you have at Wikipedia talk:Good article nominations if you need feedback while performing a review.

Keep up the good work, and I encourage you to continue to bring articles up to good article status. If anyone disagrees with this review, an alternate opinion can be sought at Good article reassessment. If you have any further questions, let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 05:05, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
