Dudley is not in the county of Staffordshire. The town of Dudley was an island of the county of Worcestershire. It is now part of the West Midlands. The surrounding areas including the Earl of Dudley's coal and steel interests, such as at Brierley Hill were in the county of Staffordshire. I worked at Round Oak Steel until 1976. It was still affectionately known as "The Earls" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.69.231.101 (talk) 20:44, 8 October 2014 (UTC)
