Eagle 1600 RAM
[edit]The Eagle 1600 did not have 640 KB of RAM. I was sold with 256 KB installed, and sockets for user-installed (or dealer-installed) additional 256 KB, giving a maximum of 512 KB. Considering that the original model of the IBM PC sold with only 16 KB of RAM, 512 KB was a lot at the time. However, IBM PC's could be expanded up to 640 KB with expansion cards, none of which were compatible with the Eagle 1600.
The Eagle 1600 was supplied with both MS-DOS and CP/M-86. However, the CP/M-86 was never upgraded, while MS-DOS was frequently upgraded.
The Eagle File 10 (and probably the File 40) would connect directly to a SASI port on the 1600. 2600:1700:9588:C200:B5CF:733F:4678:9EC6 (talk) 16:51, 10 July 2023 (UTC)
