Merge proposal
[edit]I propose that Sha Tin Heights Tunnel be merged with Eagle's Nest Tunnel (this page), into a new page titled similar to the Chinese page (zh:尖山隧道及沙田嶺隧道, Eagle's Nest Tunnel and Sha Tin Heights Tunnel). The reasons are that:
- the two pages can be summed up into one article, and would merit more notability that way
- the two structures are essentially counterparts
- zhwiki and zh-yuewiki (the sole translations) each have one page for these tunnels, and doing this on enwiki as well would be less confusing Jc86035 (talk) 16:05, 18 January 2014 (UTC)
- [EDIT] it would be easier to translate information as there is much more information in the zhwiki article, and the two enwiki ones have not had major improvements since the opening of the tunnels Jc86035 (talk • contributions) 04:01, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
sounds good. Frietjes (talk) 14:44, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
I'm not so sure. These are two different tunnels being described, through two different hills. And although the page layout is similar the information is different, too. I'd be inclined to leave them separate. Moonraker12 (talk) 13:21, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- One thing to bear into consideration is that wikidata allows only a single article in each wiki to be linked to the same item. At present only this article is linked to the zh article, whichever is decided we should co-ordinate this pan wiki, a merge here and at zh-yue or a split at zh.--KTo288 (talk) 04:35, 14 April 2014 (UTC)
- Merge. --Why should I have a User Name? (talk) 16:02, 5 July 2014 (UTC)
I've completed the merge to a new page name, combining the names of both tunnels Done
