What's in a name? Hyphens, upper case 'S'?
[edit]Does "E-Shed" have a hyphen or not? Does "shed" have a capital "S"? Some consistency in the title, article, and other articles (eg Victoria Quay, Fremantle) would be nice. Mitch Ames (talk) 03:26, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
- The dreaded litmus test of oggling it finds the current title is utilised by the business and the port - E Shed Markets is as it should be. sats 08:40, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
- The ref says original was "E" shed (with quotes and lower case) - but that can be fixed when the article is "restructured" to be about the market, not the shed. See below. Mitch Ames (talk) 12:54, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
- All these sheds have, I reckon, been consistently referred to as "X" Sheds, with double quotation marks and a capital 'S', for the last century and a bit. In the newspapers at least. Is that worth standardising on? Sam Wilson 02:06, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
- The official web site does not use quotation marks. The stylisation, per the sign in the picture, does not included the hyphen, nor does the copyright notice. However the text on that page does include the hyphen, but another page does not. I'd be included to use "E Shed Markets". Mitch Ames (talk) 06:05, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
- If in reality there is inconsistency of usage, surely here on wikipedia we simply follow one version for our consistency sake - the last one mitch uses E Shed Markets - is, as an irregular visitor to freo such as self, would think is best to follow. satusuro 08:06, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, sounds sensible. For all these sheds? I've been trying to find more info about J Shed lately, but it's not the easiest string in Trove to find.... :-) Sam Wilson 09:11, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
- There may be a distinction between the E Shed Markets and the X Shed. Mitch Ames (talk) 10:38, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
Still under construction?
[edit] Resolved
– tag is no longer there. Mitch Ames (talk) 06:06, 2 June 2014 (UTC)Is the {{under construction}} tag still appropriate? Lead sentence needs to change to describe the market, not the shed, but I'm reluctant to make such significant changes if someone is already "restructuring".
