An appreciation of E.W. Howe might be furthered by reading a short biography by his son Gene A Howe titled "My father was the most wretchedly unhappy man I ever knew". This published first in the Saturday Evening Post October 25, 1941 and reprinted in "The Saturday Evening Post Treasury" copyright 1954. It describes a hugely talented and tormented man who hated both religion and women yet stood as a journalist on par with William Allen White and others. 2601:280:C500:BECE:2555:CEE5:AABC:4499 (talk) 05:32, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
