Cast lists

[edit]

Apologies for not observing the customary way of displaying ballet casts. However, the current method of using a fairly wide empty first column seems rather ugly and creates a wide gap between the female & male cast (looking at it on a screen 1280 pixels wide). I can see two alternatives which I find prettier and more functional, keeping the columns closer toghether:

Original Patricia McBride Helgi Tomasson
  Tracey Bennett Bart Cook
      Victor Castelli
      Hermes Conde
2008 Spring:
Jerome Robbins celebration
Rachel Rutherford Benjamin Millepied

I prefer the second one. Comments? -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 05:52, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

columns

[edit]

The reason for the empty first column is that many ballets, Western Symphony, Symphony in C and The Four Seasons for instance, have named movements that sit in column one. I've left it blank on ballets that don't have such names because there are lists of entire ballet seasons where some do and some don't, but all should line up (see List of New York City Ballet 2008 Spring repertory; see also List of Western Symphony casts.) In such lists the title of the ballet is also found in the leftmost column. — Robert Greer (talk) 20:10, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
