I'm removing this stuff about who the current basketball coach is because its so irrelevant Rowing88 06:24, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
Nick Valensi of the Strokes attended Dwight School only for the duration of his freshman year, and then graduated from NYC Lab School.
- I removed him and another of the Strokes. I kept most other names, even though better sources are really needed. Given the number of alum already listed, it's no great loss to lose a couple names. --Rob 21:21, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
I took off Vin Diesel for lack of sources. I hope to be able to add him back. He was born in NYC, which helps, but isn't quite good enough. --Rob 21:31, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
Vin Diesel went to Anglo American which merged with Dwight later but was a separate school then. Here is a blurb about him from Dwight today a Dwight School publication
Mark Vincent (aka Vin Diesel), Anglo ’85 Outstanding Achievement Award Renowned Hollywood Actor/Director/Producer Mark Vincent attended the Anglo–American School along with his twin brother Paul Vincent. Mark wrote, produced, and acted in a short film called Multi Facial, which was selected for screening at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival. Steven Spielberg saw the film and created a role specifically for Mark. http://www.dwight.edu/data/files/gallery/PublicationsDownloads/Dwight_Today__Spring_2006.pdf

Quotes
[edit]What about the quotation marks that were placed on the canopy above the main entrance as graffiti, i.e. The Dwight "School"? I don't know if that's verifiable though. CoolGuy 00:05, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
Dwight Anti-Drug Program
[edit]The Dwight Anti-Drug Program has been copied all over New York, and its been quite successful. The school doesn't try to hide its past either - most people are proud of the progress Dwight has achieved over the years - A Dwight Alum 216.182.14.18 14:05, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
Paris Hilton
[edit]I do not think that Paris Hilton can be considered as a notable alumni. I understand how famous she is but I don't think the school can be very proud of her. "Hey, in my school studied Paris Hilton" I don't think the headmaster would EVER say that (UTC)
- She is now a major celebrity in the popular culture, globally--Gkklein 00:41, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
Faculty
[edit]I removed the section claiming that almost all Dwight Faculty have ivy league degrees. That is unlikely to be true and I found no evidence to support that assertion anywhere. Master shepherd 17:44, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Regarding the School Symbol
[edit]Right so a few months ago this article contained the school's logo in the top right corner. Does anyone know what happened to it and does anyone have the power to restore it?
Contested deletion
[edit]This page should not be speedy deleted because it has been revised to be more factual and references are being added. Venndiagram8 (talk) 16:37, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
For Profit?
[edit]From what I understand, Dwight is a for-profit institution. (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/22/nyregion/22private.html?pagewanted=2) I think this should be included in the article on the grounds that this is very unusual for primary and secondary schools. It isn't a judgement on the school, but it is certainly noteworthy, and thus passes the "test" for inclusion in wp articles. Any other perspectives? RideABicycle (talk) 05:54, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
- I agree. For profit status is notable and factual. Moreover it's not just your understaning, Dwight's for-profit status is a fact and is documented from a reliable source--the article you reference, above: New York Times (Sept. 21, 2010) The Face of Private-School Growth, Familiar-Looking but Profit-Making, therefore, it merits inclusion in the article.

- CmdrDan, I'm at a loss as to why you're responding to an eight year old statement that has never been replied to. If you have reliable sources, WP:BEBOLD and make an edit to the article. If someone reverts your bold edit, then come here and start a new discussion. The OP in this thread has not edited in over five years. John from Idegon (talk) 22:58, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
Notable alumni
[edit]Just a quick note. I removed the subheading referring to the alum's that did not graduate. You are an alumni whether you graduate or not, plus the fact of their non-graduation would need to be referenced. Also, I tagged several for reference whose Wikipedia articles did not refer to the Dwight School in any way. One, as a matter of fact (Roy Lichtenstein) stated that he went to public school and another private school. If that one is not referenced soon, I will be removing it. Global School Updates
[edit]Dwight School Canada is no longer part of Dwight School. Dwight School Dubai needs to be added. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CalvinSolomon (talk • contribs) 14:58, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
