Eye poke
[edit]I've once again replaced "gouge" with "poke," in regard to the Talib personal foul. For several good reasons. First is the definition of "gouge" in relation to "eye," thanks to Wiktionary: To push, or try to push the eye (of a person) out of its socket. Even a forceful, deliberate "poke" doesn't rise to the level of "gouge." There's no record of Allen claiming such, and Talib has denied such intent. Second, the sources citing "gouge" aren't as reliable as NFL.com--one is a 'personality' sports columnist with Yahoo page (and a degree in creative writing according to his Wikipedia article), and the other is a website dedicated to Denver sporting teams, which is inherently partisan, and inherently furious at what Talib himself admitted to be abysmally stupid behavior. Third, the editor who included "gouge" was kind enough to admit in the edit explanation that it was an expression of opinion. Poke is the correct term.
The editor also included in the text, but hidden on the displayed page a plea to discuss here before editing. Since I've never seen that ever, ever, ever in years of editing, I cheerfully ignored it, and am now reporting that editing behavior here. Tapered (talk) 09:28, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
