Fair use rationale for Image:The The Dusk.jpg

[edit]

Image:The The Dusk.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

– Are The The "the The" (or "The") to apply them WP:THE/WP:THECAPS? © Tbhotch (en-2.5). 21:54, 31 December 2018 (UTC)--Relisting. Calidum 04:41, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support - Upon perusing media sources it appears that the band likes to keep the first "the" uncapitalized if in the middle of sentence. Following the basic rules of the English language, if it's at the beginning of a sentence then the first "The" can be capitalized, and that can be reflected in these album article titles where Sentence Case applies. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 16:12, 1 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: these were all changed as part of a Wikipedia-wide changeover to lower-case "the" in album disambiguation titles, done by Joefromrandb. I asked him for his reasoning at the time, and I'm pinging him because I think it's only fair that he should be made aware of this discussion and allowed to explain his changes. If it turns out that the changeover was based on a distinct policy discussion/consensus, then I could change my vote. But this band's odd name might call for an exception. Is Revolver (Beatles album) comparable, when that band's name is actually THE Beatles? ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 19:19, 2 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
