Redirect to Durham Cathedral
[edit]It appears from various sources that I have been able to find that Durham Abbey and Durham Cathedral are almost certainly the same building. A selection of those sources is below:
- [books.google.co.uk/books?id=-npbAAAAQAAJ&printsec=frontcover The Abbey or Cathedral Church of Durham J. White and T. Saint, 1767
- John Wessington/File:John Washington plaque.JPG, a prior of Durham Abbey with a plaque in Durham Cathedral noting him as "Prior of this cathedral church"
- The History of the Cathedral Church of Durham as it was Before the Dissolution of the Monastry John Richardson. Page 1 is titled "The Antiquities of Durham Abbey"
- Sacred Space - Liturgy and Architecture at Durham Cathedral by Allan Doig is illustrated with a picture captioned "The Interior of Durham Abbey..." from the Durham Cathedral Library]
- S:Catholic Encyclopedia (1913)/Abbey This Catholic Encyclopaedia article is illustrated with an image captioned "Ground Plan of Durham Cathedral and Abbey" (File:Catholic Encyclopedia - Ground Plan of Durham Cathedral and Abbey.jpg). Thryduulf (talk) 15:44, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
