Note that User:Sariel Xilo has begun a rewrite at Talk:Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms/Temp to address copyvio issues. Mindmatrix 16:40, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Mindmatrix: I think I've gotten the rewrite to a good place to be reviewed. I did reuse parts that I had developed originally & sources. If I pulled from other articles (Forgotten Realms, etc), you should be able to follow that via the history attributions. (Note: Parts of that MTG Wiki article copied setting background from articles like Forgotten Realms; see WP:BACKWARDSCOPY). My 2 main lingering threads are two sentences that were copyright violations on MTG Wiki ported over to here. I fixed those sentences (quotation marks, added the missing original sources, etc). Thoughts on leaving these sentences in?
- Sentence [1] from MTG Wiki: However, this doesn't mean that these characters have a planeswalker's spark in the same sense that the term has in Magic's lore.
- My attributed, cleaned up version: However, "this doesn't mean that these characters [...] have a Planeswalker Spark" as defined in Magic's lore.[1]
- Sentence [2] from MTG Wiki: The D&D team worked with the Magic team on every aspect of the set, similar to how the Magic team worked with the D&D team on D&D Mythic Odysseys of Theros and D&D Guildmasters' Guide to Ravnica. The D&D team provided extensive feedback on both the visuals and lore of The Forgotten Realms.
- My attributed, cleaned up version: Christian Hoffer, for ComicBook.com, reported that the "D&D team worked with the Magic team on every aspect of the set, similar to how the Magic team worked with the D&D team on" the campaign setting books Guildmasters' Guide to Ravnica (2018) and Mythic Odysseys of Theros (2020). The D&D team "provided extensive feedback on both the visuals and lore of the Forgotten Realms".[2]
- I asked about it over on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions but that was the wrong project. My gut feeling is that these sentences (now updated & with quotes attributed correctly) are no longer a direct copy of the MTG Wiki version since the MTG Wiki version is just stolen text. - @Sariel Xilo:They're probably OK, but it'd be better to rephrase them. For example, I'd replace

- with something to the effect of:
- Christian Hoffer, for ComicBook.com, reported that there was constant collaboration between the D&D team and the Magic team during development of the set, as there had been for the campaign setting books Guildmasters' Guide to Ravnica (2018) and Mythic Odysseys of Theros (2020).
- It's always better to rephrase unless the original quotation adds value to the article that can't be achieved with rephrasing. Mindmatrix 00:39, 3 September 2021 (UTC)
- Done: Implemented suggested rephrase for [2] & rephrased [1]. Sariel Xilo (talk) 02:58, 3 September 2021 (UTC)

Reviewing request. @Mindmatrix: In terms of addressing the copyright concerns, I think the draft is ready for review. I might do another sweep to copyedit/tighten up some of the language but that's all stuff that could also be done in mainspace. Thanks again for your help with this article!
