Episode articles

[edit]

@John315: Regarding your edit summary, I think ultimately the episodes will be worthy of individual articles, but it's a big undertaking, and it's only been a few days since the premiere! I've been creating redirects as titles are announced:

  1. "The Hidden Hand (Dune: Prophecy)"
  2. "Two Wolves (Dune: Prophecy)"
  3. "Sisterhood Above All"
  4. "Twice Born (Dune: Prophecy)"
  5. "In Blood, Truth"
  6. "The High-Handed Enemy"

Anyone feel free to jump in (and be copyedited to death by the rest of us, LOL), but keep in mind that each article should be well-sourced and include Production and Reception info. Episode articles that are all plot are quickly redirected as non-notable.— TAnthonyTalk 05:56, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much! We'll see what happens... John315 (talk) 08:37, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Viewership

[edit]

Why is viewership of "The Hidden Hand" in the episode list listed as 2.1 million? That seems to be the cross platform viewership, I think that should be replaced with 0.21 million viewership that was actually on the HBO. The same was done for The Last of Us tv series, where only the viewership of the HBO broadcast was included and not the cross platform one. ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸ ਆਫ਼ ਪੰਜਾਬ (PrinceofPunjab | ਗੱਲਬਾਤ) 13:38, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ok imdb refers to viewership as a number of 1,2 millions in USA. Does it mean it's still cross platform? I thought that in USA just HBO streams Dune. Thank you 193.87.7.196 (talk) 15:57, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
are these numbers in table meant to be just for HBO? It is not exactly mentioned there, so what is wrong with number of cross platform viewers ? :) Mali91290 (talk) 19:06, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As PrinceofPunjab suggests, the standard for TV series tables have usually been for original broadcast, but I think the broader ratings are definitely notable in this context so I kept the mention in prose.— TAnthonyTalk 19:22, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Cross platform should be mentioned in the Viewership section prose as done in the case of the Doctor Odyssey#Ratings, High Potential (TV series)#Ratings, House of the Dragon#Viewership and The Last of Us season 1#Ratings. But, episode list should only include the original HBO broadcast ratings. ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸ ਆਫ਼ ਪੰਜਾਬ (PrinceofPunjab | ਗੱਲਬਾਤ) 13:10, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
HBO is the original network and viewership should only apply to the original network, not secondary networks nor cross-platform viewership. — YoungForever(talk) 01:39, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Brian Herbert

[edit]

In light of the fact that the plot of this series diverges so greatly from the novel by Brian Herbert on which this series is based, are Brian Herbert's thoughts on this matter known? He is listed as one of the executive producers of this series, and executive producers don't always have significant input or control of the writing of a given series. 98.123.38.211 (talk) 03:29, 30 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This series takes place 30 years after the Great Schools of Dune series so I don't think we can say it diverges greatly from anything? The flashbacks are pretty close to faithful. Anyway considering Brian Herbert represents the franchise we can probably assume he's "approved" of the plot lines if not been directly involved, like GRRM with Game of Thrones.— TAnthonyTalk 04:39, 30 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
