Next station and location relevant to Liff
[edit]I think the statement that this was the "southern terminus of the line, situated south of Liff station" and the claim that Liff railway station was the next station is also wrong. The Liff station (which was in the historic parish of Liff, but was located in South Road, Dundee not the village of Liff) was on the new alignment of the line opened in 1861 and which led to Dundee West railway station, not the original alignment which went through the Law and terminated at Ward Road. This can clearly be seen on the maps at the cited source and the diagram on the Dundee and Newtyle Railway article. The correct next station is the station at the north of the Law tunnel, which different sources give different names to. Also goods traffic did not always terminate here, but could be taken south through a tramway to Dundee harbour. Dunarc (talk) 18:50, 23 September 2019 (UTC)
- I have amended the station succession to Back of Law railway station as supported by that station's article and several other sources. There was never anyway to access Liff railway station from the old station at Ward Road. Dunarc (talk) 21:50, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
