comparison to book
[edit]I re-added the section comparing the movie to the book, which is the reason I became interesetd in this WP article in the first place. This section was deleted Jul 2010 and had been tagged as needing sources in March 2010. Considering that this section is a simple comparison based on the article on the book versus the article on the movie, are additional references really needed? --Risacher (talk) 06:36, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, it does require references. Making your own comparison between a book and a film (or a Wikipedia article on the book and the article on the film) and then adding that to Wikipedia is called original research, which is not allowed on Wikipedia. As some of the information also deals with living people references are a must. The book's article has six references, which may be a good starting point for references. - Kollision (talk) 01:28, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
Differences in plot
[edit]There are a few differences in the plot for the one I just finished watching here in South Africa. Like when Rip is trapped, Xan goes back and starts to dig him out uncovering his head, thus saving him. Xan then stops helping him and leaves because of the deception Xan believes is happening. There is nothing of the ventilation shaft but since the entrance is open that Xan left out of Rip could easily have left that way after digging him self out. The ending doesn't mention how mother and son meet on the family farm or flashes of Xan working on the farm.
These are just two things I noted, not sure if the edit was done differently for RSA than the USA or if the original article author just forgot a few things. Some how it feels like this has been written from the books perspective not the movie. Are corrections in order? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.151.220.246 (talk) 18:24, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
