How many stones?
[edit]Having read this article immediately after visiting the circle I was surprised to read that there are eight stones, as I had counted nine stones including the fallen one. One stone, in the south-east quadrant, was only about 30 cm high and is visible on Google Earth and on several other photos online. So I revisited the cicle (on 14 October 2023) and found that the 'extra' stone is actually easily movable and, while resembling the others in its colour and nature, looks as though it has been recently added by someone to complete what would otherwise be a gap. I spoke to the householder of one of the nearby houses and he was unaware of the addition to the circle. He said that as far as he was aware no surveys, digs or alterations had taken place.
