areas that need help
[edit]I am still looking for the specific dates of DAWN's departmental transfers. Also need more refrences under "controversies" (try the external links) need any info on DAWN's "new direction" lots and lots of proofreading Eyejuice 23:22, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Why are there little "locks" on the references?
[edit]I see little lock symbols where references-- which appear to be the main website for this program. Why isn't there a typical reference section? --Leahtwosaints (talk) 04:47, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
- OK, I see now. the references to add to the stub belong in the reference section. If you are new to writing articles, please leave a note on my talk page if you don't understand the mechanics and I'll be happy to show you--- it's simple, really. References do not belong in the External links section, either. First, please leave all references (sources) here on the talk page where all new or not completely used references must be placed. Here they are:
- Emergency Room Mentions of Marijuana Use
- Drug War Distortions, critique of interpretation of DAWN statistics
- DAWN Emergency Department Publications
- Charts of DAWN data
- The Drug Abuse Warning Network: a statistical perspective. Public Health Reports. 1976.
- Data quality of the Drug Abuse Warning Network American Journal of Drug and Alcohol Abuse. Aug 1996.
- The Drug Abuse Warning Network (DAWN) Program. Toxicologic verification of 1,008 emergency room 'mentions' (abstract) Archives of General Psychiatry. Jan 1980.
- Westat DAWN page
The references on the article are all from the "official" website and appear to be slanted -which violates our NPOV policy. The article seems like an advertisement or a term paper in a sense. This is only an observation -not a personal attack, and an easy mistake to make, one that can be helped along to keep and expand your article. Leave a note on my talk page if you would like help.
Please add all new references here and when they are used up, you may cross them off like this. Thank you! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 05:21, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
- The lock symbols are added to show that the linked resource is being served securely over HTTPS. —Tom Morris (talk) 12:18, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
