This is an article about a living subject that does not site any sources. Additionally, some of the information seems overly fawning, suggesting a conflict of interest. And finally, there is the unnecessary trivia section. In short, the article is a bit of a mess. As such, I will undertake to improve this article in the next few days, but I would appreciate your help, if you are interested! (Whoever is reading this, that is.) If I make any changes you disagree with, feel free to let me know on my talk page. Charlie-talk to me-what I've done 02:08, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed, I removed the bulk of the article and sourced what was left. This is not a teacher directory. That said, he's had NYT coverage and is a distinguished professor so appears notable. TRAVELLINGCARIMy storyTell me yours 15:48, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- Good work. I did a little more cleanup to remove a euphemism, clean up the ref templates, and remove a blurry picture with a non-encyclopedic caption that didn't add anything to the article. The article could still be improved to say something about Dr. Casper's past in the Society of Jesus and the notable courses he presently teaches annually that focus on oeuvres of individual filmmakers of merit. Frequently the filmmakers themselves, if still living, attend one of the lectures to provide Q&A. Robert K S (talk) 20:07, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah I wasn't sure of the purpose of the photo but I don't deal in images so I left that for someone else. I couldn't actually find anything in RS to confirm the Society of Jesus so I left that out. Of course if we can source it, it would be an interesting addition. The issue with the courses/celeb Q&A is that isn't that notable. He's not the only professor to do so and while it's interesting on a USC page, I don't think it's encyclopedic. Thoughts on that? - When you have the likes of Lucas, Kasdan, and Darabont taking the stage together for a Q&A and Spielberg popping by, it's notable and worth mentioning in the article about the professor. Robert K S (talk) 20:21, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- True, I didn't realise it was that many big names at once. I can't find a reference to it, can you? I can definitely see something like "Students in his class are able to discuss what they've learned with industry figures such as...." Commentary on "The Apartment"?
[edit]I do not believe that Casper recorded an audio commentary for Billy Wilder's The Apartment. He participated in a featurette on the Collector's Edition, but the commentary is by Bruce Block. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.237.208.65 (talk) 16:12, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
