[edit]I think it's pretty lame that in an interview with Steph Song (who plays the prostitute in the movie) http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/LAC.20070106.DRAGON06/TPStory/TPEntertainment/Television/ it was said that
``she, for one, was actually relieved when she heard that the miniseries was being written and directed by Caucasians. "I was worried that if it were directed or written by Chinese Canadians, there would be too much sympathy," she explained at the preview screening."
I think this should be added to the main text, and will consider where to place it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.96.132.7 (talk • contribs)
- Well, we can't say it's "lame" (in the article) since that would violate WP:NPOV. Also, where would that fit in, exactly? It seems out of place with everything else. (I did see that quote earlier while writing the article, but couldn't find a place to incorporate that without breaking the flow of the article.) -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 14:57, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Certainly not "lame" in the actual article, I agree. An NPOV sentence at the end of the section on "criticism and community involvement" seems fair, no? I thought the movie itself was pretty cool, BTW. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.96.132.7 (talk • contribs)
- Alright, I tried adding that in a way that won't make the reader ask "so what?" -- hopefully this works. -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 02:22, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
- Fantastic write up! 74.96.132.7 15:56, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
The word "mini-series"
[edit]I know such compound words lose their hyphens eventually, but "miniseries" just looks weird. I kept reading it as "ministries" at first which was a tad confusing. Therefore, I think it'd probably be better to spell it out as "mini-series". However, I never again will waste my time arguing something as inconsequential as Wikipedia articles so you guys ultimately can do what you want. 70.66.9.162 11:32, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well, Wikipedia's official usage is "miniseries" so that's why it's spelled without a hyphen. There needs to be some sort of uniformity in the spelling. And no, we do not just do what we want to articles, but rather we have to follow certain spelling and writing guidelines; these are meant to reduce confusion, by using only the "accepted" spellings already available. Not that I like that idea all the time, but that's the way it is. -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 15:02, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- Oh well, I thought that might be the case. Thanks anyway. 70.66.9.162 21:26, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
