[edit]I removed the citation re: use by Identity Evropa. If anything, it belongs on the latter's article. Preserving here by providing this diff. K.e.coffman (talk) 02:36, 26 October 2017 (UTC)
Identity Evropa connection is no longer relevant.
[edit]The American Identity Movement (formerly known as Identity Evropa) has rebranded and no longer uses the Dragon's Eye as their logo. I removed their name from this page as it is no longer relevant, especially since the page stated that the symbol was currently in use by them.
User "Beyond My Ken" has repeatedly undone this change (including adding back the incorrect statement that the symbol is still in use) and given no reason other than threatening to report me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:6000:4002:5D00:859F:C66:EA94:29E6 (talk) 03:03, 7 July 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose Removal of the "political use" section of the article, which is relevant and sourced. Beyond My Ken (talk) 03:08, 7 July 2019 (UTC)

Alter political use section to note that the symbol is no longer in use by the organization. 2605:6000:4002:5D00:859F:C66:EA94:29E6 (talk) 03:05, 7 July 2019 (UTC)
- Not done History is not changed, the past is the past. The symbol was used by IE. Beyond My Ken (talk) 03:07, 7 July 2019 (UTC)

Move Political Use to "see also"
[edit]I suggest we move the reference to Identity Evropa to the "See also" section. The organization's former use of the symbol is not relevant to the symbol itself, only to Identity Evropa. --DragonEye616 (talk) 05:16, 7 July 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose - Identity Evropa's use of the Dragon's Eye is exactlyy as significant as the Nazi's use of the Swastika, an issuse which is forthrightly dealt with in that article. Wikipedia doessn't hide or suppress information because an ethusiast want to promote other information. This editor is the same person as the IPs which have been unsuccessfully trying to remove this information from the article for a while now. Their attempts are beginning to be disruptive. Beyond My Ken (talk) 07:15, 7 July 2019 (UTC)
- Incidentally, see the second sentence of our article 616 (number), as well as this and the lede of Number of the Beast. An editor wishing to avoid scrutiny of their efforts to remove information from an article about an occult symbol designating "a choice between good and evil" creates an account, and chooses for it the newly-determined accurate "number of the beast". Beyond My Ken (talk) 08:20, 7 July 2019 (UTC)
- Claiming that this symbol is equal to the swastika is ridiculous. Identity Evropa died with a membership of 700. It is not in any conceivable way equal to Nazism.

- Also, please consider doing more research before making false assumptions as to why I chose my username. The number of the beast is not what I picked my name for. I picked it because I enjoy comic books and "616" is the numerical designation of the main Marvel universe. It would have just been DragonsEye, but the name was taken. - The analogy between Nazis/swastika and IE/dragon's eye is apt not because the two organizations have had a similar impact, but because they both adopted an existing symbol to represent their groups. I fail to see why you don't see that, and why you are being such an activist at attempting to hide the use of the dragon's eye by Identity Evropa. It's a simple, demonstrable fact, well-documented, and we just do not turn a blind eye to those. Beyond My Ken (talk) 22:44, 7 July 2019 (UTC)
- I'm not trying to hide that fact. The information relevant to Identity Evropa can be found on their page. I am simply trying to reduce stigma on a symbol that is objectively unrelated to white nationalism. --DragonEye616 (talk) 02:19, 8 July 2019 (UTC)
- Considering that yu asked for it to be removed from that article, you're being somewhat disingenuous. If the use of the symbol by a video game is relevant, then the use of the symbol by a political group -- regardless of its politics -- is also relevant. Please stop WP:BLUDGEONing this discussion by arguing a point which is blatantly wrong. Beyond My Ken (talk) 02:34, 8 July 2019 (UTC)
- @DragonEye616:, I think you can safely consider your stream of requests "declined" at this point. I for one won't see any reason to remove this information from the article anyway. Should we also delete the Wikipedia articles for any person or organization that no longer exists? ST47 (talk) 02:39, 8 July 2019 (UTC)

- The article uses past tense to describe the symbol's use by Identity Evropa. I don't see any issue with that. --K.e.coffman (talk) 00:25, 9 July 2019 (UTC)
