Music Overdubbed?
[edit]Recently viewed a handful of Dragnet episodes from 1951 thru 1954, on network television, and apparently the music bed has been monkeyed with. A very late 50s, Duane Eddy style, twangy guitar riff - repeated numerous times per episode - has been inserted over the original instrumental music. (In some cases the original music is still faintly heard beneath the over dub!). The twangy guitar is not only not period, it’s louder than any other part of the soundtrack. Does anybody have any idea why / when this alteration took place? Or the story behind such an edit? It’s truly terrible. 75.107.41.198 (talk) 03:19, 26 December 2022 (UTC)
