Minichallenge results
[edit]It looks like the show is consistently saying the top three for the minichallenge -- should these be noted in the episode summaries? Or just who actually won? Umimmak (talk) 20:55, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
Runway vs Main Challenge
[edit]Right now the distinction between the main challenge and the runway is a bit confusing... the table says Natalia won the Maxichallenge, but it doesn't *also* say she was safe for the runway. In theory one could win the minichallenge and also win the runway, or be bottom two, or whatever. It's a bit confusing that for the most part the table is about the judges' critiques for the runway, except for the cell for winning the maxi challenge.
Should the table only be color coded/filled in for the runway with some sort of note if they won the mini/maxi challenge? Umimmak (talk) 23:08, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
- Now we've seen you can win the maxi challenge and be put into the bottom two... it seems like the cells in the table should really only cover the results for the runway (including the bottom two and elimination). Maybe a separate row or a diacritic or something to denote the maxi challenge winner. Thoughts? Umimmak (talk) 18:58, 9 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Esuta: If we use the table to show both runway and main challenge results, we will need to have new colours for (Win Main Challenge + HIGH) (Win Main Challenge + LOW) (Win Main Challenge + LSFYL) (Win Main Challenge + Eliminated). This will be far too complicated. The cell colours should just be for runway. The main challenge is just for prizes like the minichallenge -- the cells should only be for the runway. A diacritic or something like that might be useful as that won't interfere with the cell backgrounds. Umimmak (talk) 02:35, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Umimmak: I think the current way is fine and quite simple. If situations arise in the future like what you said, maybe we could revisit it but I find the idea of adding the icons and not documenting each win to be a poor idea. It kind of diminishes how well each contestant is doing especially since the show only sometimes treats main challenge and runway as separate challenges. Both are viable and both should be counted. As the other person said, there's no reason to jump the gun. Let's just take it as it goes. FanaticDreamer (talk) 07:05, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- FanaticDreamer if the table is going to have colors for both the main challenge and the runway, then the labels should be clearer.
The contestant received positive/negative judges' critiques
is specifically for the runway, not for the main challenge. And it should be clearer that Natalia was only SAFE on the runway in episode 2 -- the text of every other cell is only to do with their runway performance (cf. Natlia's "BTM2" not "WIN" for episode 4). Plus as per WP:COLOR, color should not be the only means of conveying information as is presently being done to distinguish the episode 2 WINs and the episode 4 BTM2s. I suppose that we'll see how it goes -- if there are mostly design challenges for the rest of the series like Ep 1 and 3 then we won't need too many ways to distinguish different combinations of Main Challenge wins + Runway challenge results. Umimmak (talk) 07:35, 14 March 2018 (UTC)

- @MSMRHurricane: when there are multiple challenges that are judged separately, it's the runway challenge that affects LSFYL placement. I think b/c of that the table should focus on that (as I said above all the combinations of Main Challenge win + Runway challenge win/high/safe/low/lsfyl/elim will get confusing), but if there is consensus to have both main challenge and runway challenge results then the winners in episode 1, 3, and 5 where there was a single win should be the colour of the runway wins in episode 2 and 4. Also can we please have different colours than two very similar shades of blue? Even disregarding WP:COLOR which says color should never be the sole distinguishing factor, those two blues are too similar to tell apart at a glance. Umimmak (talk) 23:30, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Umimmak: I think we should keep the main challenge and runway challenge templates on the table, as some episodes have had two seperate winners for either challenge. But for instance, episode 1, I think I remember Annee won the runway challenge, which was also the main challenge, but they announced her being the winner of the runway challenge. I changed the colour and font to white as that was technically the contestants only main challenge for the episode. Whereas before it was highlighted that she had won the runway challenge, but in the episode summary it states she was the winner of the main challenge. Therefore we should state the winners - if there are two seperate winners - of both the main and runway challenges when its relevant. I'm all for changing the colour of the runway template, but it should be something in keeping, and different from any colours used for any of the RuPaul's Drag Race tables. MSMRHurricane (talk) 01:50, 21 March 2018 (UTC)
- @MSMRHurricane:
they announced her being the winner of the runway challenge
yes, so say she won the Runway challenge -- there was no separate Main challenge in Eps 1 and 3, so why colour them to be the main challenge? And right now it's confusing -- comments likereceived positive judges' critiques
in episodes 2 and 4 only apply to the Runway, not the Main Challenge, but you wouldn't be able to tell this from the chart. The main challenge, when it's judged separately from the runway, is like the mini challenge -- it doesn't really matter (see Ep 4.) Umimmak (talk) 02:21, 21 March 2018 (UTC)
- @MSMRHurricane:
- @Umimmak: But since that so called runway challenge was the only main challenge for both of those episodes, they should be considered as the main challenge. And we should divide the runway and main challenge up if there are two separate winners in one episode. With the positive and negative critiques, I didn't add them in seeing as I thought they shouldn't be applied for those episodes as I recall no one really received any critiques on the main stage, but I could be wrong, since I don't recall very well. I feel that judges critiques' on the main stage is more relevant than the top 3 of a mini challenge, so to note the mini challenge top 3 on the table would deem redundant and would look messy. I'm just following the order of the RuPaul's Drag Race tables and trying to remain in-keeping with them. I just feel the importance of critiques on the main stage should just be the bottom line, and runway and main challenges should remain separate when necessary as they do state different winners - when it applies - for those two things. And like I said, when it comes to Annee's wins for eps 1 & 3, I think they should be main challenge wins as it was the only challenge in those episodes. MSMRHurricane (talk) 06:10, 21 March 2018 (UTC)
- Well apparently I'm alone in thinking every episode has a runway challenge but not necessarily a main challenge; you seem to think the reverse. I guess I concede on this since everyone else seems to be in consensus. Umimmak (talk) 07:51, 21 March 2018 (UTC)
- B Ella was low for the runway in episode 6. This [1] edit removes that information because MSMRHurricane feels it is "redundant". That revision makes it seem like no one was called out for being "low" in the bottom runway, which is misleading. She was low, and nearly had to lip sync due to her runway -- her having won 3 years of a phone plan for the acting mini challenge is besides the point. Umimmak (talk) 23:09, 5 April 2018 (UTC)
- Umimmak Like I stated in my edit summary, I don't think being LOW should overrule the fact that B Ella won the main challenge. If she placed in the BTM2, like Natalia did, then that should be cited, because the BTM2 obviously determines whether you stay or go home. Whereas LOW indicates the judges critiques, and in this case comparing it to B Ella's main challenge win, I find it not as important as her win, and what should be displayed in the table is her win rather than LOW, as that LOW is definitely not the focus/take-away we get from that episode. This is my opinion. Plus I don't see your point in bringing up her win of the mini challenge either? My edits don't cover those other aspects, it's just simply stating that her WIN of the MAIN challenge is far more important to note than her being LOW. MSMRHurricane (talk) 00:48, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
- I mistyped before, I mean to say her winning the main (not mini) challenge is besides the point. You're still removing information from the article (who was low in that episode's runway) just because in your personal opinion it isn't important. I disagree -- the LOW should be recorded for every episode. Umimmak (talk) 06:24, 6 April 2018 (UTC)

Evaluation
[edit]This is a great article! I would like to know more information about all of the different contestants within both seasons of the show. I also think it would be super interesting to add the reactions and feedback to the show.06:15, 24 January 2020 (UTC)Anjulenabagga (talk) 06:14, 24 January 2020 (UTC)
